Definition of Strategic Clarity

Strategic: what is important to you and the organization
Clarity: what you see corresponds to what really is

Strategic Clarity: your understanding of what is important and how to achieve it corresponds with reality

To understand what strategic clarity is and its value, below, you can:
see how strategic clarity influences the decision making process
experience the lack of clarity in some games
hear stories about organizations that gained strategic clarity in case studies
learn about different concepts and processes for improving strategic clarity through the Institute's newsletters
The rest of the Institute website provides a deeper exploration of our understanding of strategic clarity, what you can do to improve your own strategic clarity, and ways for you to participate in our work.

Games

Experience and research have shown that we humans have certain ways of thinking that cloud our understanding of the reality we face.

Click here to play some games that show you some of these limitations.

See the research section and the decision making process for ways to overcome these limitations.

Dynamic Cases using Executive Flight Simulators

Flight simulators let us test our hypotheses about how to achieve the results we desire in complex systems. The following cases are based on actual organizations with which we have worked. We hope that you will play with them, test your hypotheses with them, and learn from them.

The models are developed in the system dynamics simulation software ithink. For more information on the software, contact isee systems, inc. To be able to run the models, you will need the ithink software. You can download a demo version.
